1950s

Sheri Goeser Stritof (1961) and Bob Stritof (1958) have written a book, The Everything Great Marriage Book, published in November 2003, by Adams Media. It is part of the popular Everything Series. They have been the Marriage Guides at About.com (http://marriage.about.com) since 1997.

1960s

SUZIE CONAWAY-CAMERON(Suzie Miller)Class of 1964 died on December 11th, 2002 . A memorial website has been set up for her at the following web address: www.suzieconaway-cameron.com. As a memorial to Suzie Conaway-Cameron and her commitment to the community, the Las Vegas City Council voted on 6/4/03 to name the new park on the corner of Torrey Pines Drive and Smoke Ranch Road in honor of her.

1970s

GWENDOLYN J.(SCOTT) PAULK Class of 1973 died on April 11, 2001 , in Bloomington , Indiana she was 45. She is survived by her husband Kim, Daughters Darci and Denise and Granddaughter Rikaya, Mother Minnie Scott, Sister Cindy Foster and Brothers Bryan Scott and William Scott. Her family has donated $3,000 to establish an Alumni Scholarship in her honor. To donate to the scholarship, please e-mail Bryan Scott('84) at BKScott@msn.com. CARL E. WALLACE, Class of 1977, died Thursday May 23,2002 . He was 43. He was born April 30, 1959 , in Merced , California . A lineman for Nevada Power Company, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 396, U.S.A. Track & Field Association and a 29-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Las Vegas; sons, Jason of Arizona, Austyn and Jerrett; daughter, Carla; stepdaughter, Jasmine Fields; father and stepmother, A.Y. and Regina; sisters, Darlene, Paulene Logan and Charlene; and brothers, Roderick and Dwain, all of Las Vegas. Services were held on Friday May 31, 2002 .

1980s

JEFF SMITH, class of 1984, has returned to the United States after serving in Iraq . WELCOME HOME JEFF!!

Army Staff Sgt. KERRY W. FRITH, 37, who graduated from Rancho in 1982, was among those aboard a helicopter that went down before dawn Friday, February 22, 2002 , in the Bohol Sea off Negros island in the Phillipines. There were no survivors.

Army Sgt. 1st Class MARK W. GRUMBACH, Rancho High School class of 1981, has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal, awarded to members of the U.S. armed forces who distinguish themselves by either outstanding achievement or meritorious service in noncombat situations. Grumbach received the medal while assigned to Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii .

1990s

ROBERT VALENCIA, a 1998 graduate of Rancho High School , recently completed basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio .

2000s

JESSICA ALPICHE, Rancho High School class of 2001, recently completed Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas . Alpiche is a former color guard team member of the Nellis Squadron , Nevada Civil Air Patrol, which won the Civil Air Patrol Pacific Region championship in 2000.

RYAN REEVES, Rancho High School class of 2001, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas .

Airman 1st Class LAKEISHA TAPPLIN, a 2001 graduate of Rancho High School , recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas . The new airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, customs and human relations, earning credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
